Leila Akhmet-Othman’s Bird of Happiness

I was born in 1973 in Amaty, Kazakhstan, and received my Master of Fine Arts degree from the Kazakh State Academy of Art. I received the First Premium Laureate of the International Festival of Creative Youth for Shabat 2001 and an award for Development and Support of the Arts for Poncho at a charity auction in Seattle, Wash, among other awards. I have been a lecturer in the Department of Graphic Design at Kazakh State Academy of Arts and a lecturer at School Plus in Seattle.
