This is the third edition of this textbook, closely following the release of the second edition in 1998. The book provides a thorough overview encompassing all aspects of otolaryngology. There are 295 contributing authors and many are internationally and nationally recognized surgeons. This comprehensive textbook has more than 2000 high-quality illustrations. The text is descriptive yet concisely written. There are numerous tables summarizing key concepts, which help facilitate learning.

The 2-volume text is divided into 5 major sections: basic science, pediatric otolaryngology, head and neck oncology, otology, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. In addition, there are 2 minor sections dealing with miscellaneous topics ranging from medical ethics to new imaging technology.
