We all know that art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth.—Pablo Picasso1

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) is well known as one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century. He made arguably the most important contribution to the development of modern art in the 20th century, with virtually no artist escaping his influence.
