Originally, there were high incidences of complications, but Dong and associates present a series of 1700 patients who underwent this procedure with their new criteria and surgical procedures with excellent outcomes.

A New Nose Tip-Defining Technique for Asians Using Autologous Cartilage Prefabricated with Octyl-2-Cyanoacrylate Adhesive

Seo and colleagues describe a prefabricated 3-dimensional nasal tip graft formed from autologenous cartilage pieces with octyl-2-cyanoacrylate adhesive. In an experimental animal model, the cartilage was well preserved and there were no untoward effects. Aesthetic results in 42 clinical cases in Asian noses were excellent.

Modified Y-V Epicanthoplasty With Raised Medial Canthus in the Asian Eyelid

Epicanthoplasty can be used to help improve the appearance of the medial epicanthal fold. Zhao and Luo describe a modified Y-V epicanthoplasty in 68 cases. Excellent results and no incidences of hypertrophic scarring were noted.
